Notice of Woodhouse Lane temporary road closure and night time working

I am writing to let you know that works required to allow the continued construction of highway infrastructure to support the Uplands Farm Development and Botley Bypass projects and will require a full road closure at the northern end of Woodhouse Lane, Botley.

The closure will be in place from 9am Thursday 9 December and the road is expected to reopen from 10am Friday 10 December 2021. During this time, the road will be closed to traffic from the junction of Woodhouse Lane at Winchester Street, as far as the entrance of Hillier Garden Centre.

Access to all properties and businesses will be maintained, and a signed diversion will be in place via the A334, Botley Road, Tollbar Way and Winchester Road (B3354). Please see the diversion route plan attached. Pedestrian access will be maintained through the working area.

The closure is required to allow a deep level Southern Water mains connection. Due to the location and depth of the works, it is not possible to carry out the works while traffic remains on the carriageway. To limit the duration of the closure, the works will be undertaken as a continuous activity, commencing on Thursday morning, and continuing through the day and the night to finish on Friday morning.

I would like to take this opportunity to apologise for any disruption caused. Please note these are estimated timescales and further notification will be given should there be any significant change to times or dates.

Should you have any concerns whilst the works are being undertaken, please contact our works contractor Volker Fitzpatrick on 07471141206.
